The SaaS Manifesto

  1. Build the right product at the right time for the right market
  2. Build the product right. Tenant provisioning,
    scalability and extensibility are important.
  3. It’s all about end user adoption of the product
  4. Usability is will make or break the product
  5. Security and privacy is something users care about
  6. Dropping the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is everything
  7. Scalability separates the toy apps from the players
  8. Self-service drives adoption and profits
  9. Trial customers will want to be anonymous
  10. Complex pricing models scare off customers
  11. Users want instant gratification and ROI from the product. They don’t want to attend time consuming and expensive training classes.
  12. Repackaged ASP apps via Server virtualization is not true SaaS
